How EMF Shielding Works?

EMF shielding fabric works by creating a barrier that reduces the strength of electromagnetic fields (EMFs), primarily through reflection and absorption. This reduction in signal strength is called attenuation and is measured in decibels (dB). Common EMF Frequencies in USA

These are the most frequent sources of EMFs you’ll find in households:

3G mobile – 850 MHz, 1900 MHz
4G mobile – 600 MHz to 2.3 GHz depending on carrier (includes 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1700/2100 MHz AWS, and 1900 MHz)
5G mobile – widely operating in 600 MHz (low-band), 2.5 GHz and 3.7 GHz (mid-band), and mmWave bands from 26 GHz to 39 GHz
Smart meters – typically between 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz depending on model and utility provider
Wireless routers – usually 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz for dual-band modems and depending on your settings; WiFi 6E devices may also use the 6 GHz band (5.925–7.125 GHz)

Should I Cover My Head for EMF Protection

Many users leave their head exposed for breathability, but if you prefer full coverage, we recommend using light, breathable mesh shielding like what’s used in EMF canopies or curtains.

Comparison to Other Recovery Bags

Most recovery bags on the market don’t provide true EMF shielding. They’re often made with silver-coated nylon or copper, which initially block EMFs well, but silver degrades. Sweat, skin oils, lotions, and certain detergents (especially with bleach or brighteners) can cause oxidation, reducing shielding performance. In silver-coated copper fabrics, the silver layer can wear off, exposing copper and causing discoloration.

Grounding via the Outlet Explained

EarthShield grounding products do not use electricity. When connected to a power outlet, they only link to the round grounding pin, never to the active or neutral electrical slots.

Before use, always test your power outlet with an outlet tester to confirm it’s properly grounded. If the tester shows a fault, avoid using that outlet for grounding and have a licensed electrician inspect it.

If your outlet isn’t grounded, you can safely use your EarthShield product with a ground rod instead.

All EarthShield cords and adapters include built-in safety resistors (totalling 60,000 ohms) to protect you in the rare case that electricity flows through the building’s ground wiring.

Your power point can be switched on or off, grounding will work either way. If you’re sharing the outlet with an appliance, just ensure the power is switched on for the appliance to operate while your EarthShield product remains safely earthed.
